The Singapore Botanic Gardens is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a place of tranquillity and beauty. With a variety of plant species and the beautiful orchid garden, the garden offers a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. From turtles to banded monitors, otters, monkeys and eagles, there are all kinds of animals waiting for you.
5. Little India — Temple visit

In Little India, you can immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and colorful hustle and bustle of this district. Visit the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, one of the oldest Hindu temples in Singapore, and admire the ornate sculptures and spiritual atmosphere. In addition to this temple, there are others that you can also marvel at from the inside. Free clothing is provided at the entrance in case you are not properly dressed. Don’t forget to take off your shoes at the entrance and you can immerse yourself in a spiritual experience.
6. Chinatown – Souvenirshopping

Chinatown is a bustling neighborhood rich in history and culture. Here you’ll find traditional stores and markets selling a variety of souvenirs, from handmade jewelry to exotic spices. Don’t forget to visit the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, a fascinating religious and cultural center. Not only does it have by far the largest selection of souvenirs, but also the best prices.
7. Merlion – Singapore’s landmark

The Merlion, a statue with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, is the symbol of Singapore. It stands majestically on the shores of Marina Bay and makes for a great photo opportunity. The Merlion symbolizes Singapore’s humble origins as a fishing village and its development into a world-renowned metropolis.
8. MacRitchie Reservoir

MacRitchie Reservoir Park is a must for nature lovers and adventurers. Here, you can go on hikes, explore the treetops on the Treetop Walk and, if you’re lucky, you might spot an ornamental tree snake (Chrysopelea paradisi) meandering along the tree at a height of 20 meters. The park offers a wonderful insight into Singapore’s flora and fauna and is a great place to escape from city life.
9. Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve – Wild Crocodiles

A trip to the vicinity of Johor Bahru, directly bordering Malaysia, offers the opportunity to see wild crocodiles in their habitat. From a safe distance, of course.
10. Changi Airport

Changi Airport is more than just an airport; it is a destination in itself. With its innovative facilities such as the Butterfly Garden, Rain Vortex and Jewel Changi, it offers numerous entertainment options. The variety of restaurants and stores also make a stay here an unforgettable experience. There is now even an evening show that bathes the famous waterfall in colorful light, accompanied by music.
Bonus:
Eat at a Hawker Center

A visit to a hawker center is an absolute must in Singapore. These food halls offer a variety of delicious and affordable local dishes. Our favorite is the Hawker Center in Little India, where you can enjoy authentic Indian cuisine, from curry to roti prata. Be sure to try the traditional drink “Teh Tarik” – steeped tea with milk, which is a real treat.
Rojak should also be on your list. Rojak is a popular dish in Singapore and Malaysia that offers a colorful mix of different ingredients and flavors. The term “rojak” means “mixture” in Malay, which perfectly describes the dish as it combines a variety of components that come together to create a unique and delicious dish.
